1999 Toronto DML Meet #3 - The 1999 Toronto Auto Show

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here's how this works... I'll show you a small thumbnail of each picture, probably along with some blabbing about it. There are two versions of each picture; one is a plain ol' picture, but with the other I've added some labels. (To indentify people and such...) Clicking on a thumbnail will bring up the labeled picture. If you'd like to see the version without all the text and labels, click on the "*" to the right of the picture.
The 1999 Toronto Auto Show was a perfect reason to have another DML meet. :-) Here are a bunch of pictures along with a few descriptions... There aren't many Dakota pics, this is more or less sort've like a "photo album" of the meet...

The plan was for everyone to meet up by the prototype Charger R/T. Unfortunately, when I got there, I found out that there was no Charger R/T at the show, and they were never planning on having it there, even though the web site and the newspaper both said it would be. Fortunately, I found a payphone and got ahold of Jason at his cell phone; turns out he was standing about 100 feet away. :-)

The pics above are Ed and I arriving at the auto show, everyone except Eddie & Lisa meeting up in the Dodge area, everyone standing around in the 4x4 test area, Jason checking out a Buell, and Ed trying to cram himself into a Mustang. I keep tellin' him he should get a Dakota, but he doesn't want to hear it. ;-)

After checking out the auto show, meeting up with Ron, Tracy, Eddie, and Lisa, and watching Jason take a new Cherokee out to the 4x4 test track, we all headed over to Planet Hollywood for lunch.

The above are a bunch of pics of various things at the auto show:

The interior and front of the Copperhead, a Solar Yellow Dakota R/T, the 4x4 test track vehicles, a Ram in the loading bay, a Canadian Supercar, the outside and interior of the Jeepster, a Lamborghini Diablo VT, a Ferrari, and several shots of a plumb crazy HEMI 'Cuda with a shaker hood and a pistol grip shifter, a Roadrunner, and part of the smaller of the 2 buildings which housed the show.

Of course, it goes without saying that a good time was had by all. :-)
The people that attended this meet were:
Jason Bleazard (jbleazard@home.com)
Norah Bleazard (nbleazard@home.com)
Eddie & Lisa Estoppey (DakGts@MoparEd.com)
Ron & Tracey Lane (red98rtrc@yahoo.com)
Jon Steiger (jon@dakota-truck.net) & his friend Ed

The photos of this meet were taken by Jason, Norah, and Jon.
