   Hmmm... As much as I like nitrous, it sounds as if it might not be
right for you... As far as damaging the engine goes, no that's not a
problem if you install according to the manufacturer's recommendations
and don't get greedy or sloppy. :-)

  But, if street power is what you're looking for, nitrous is probably
not what you want. There's a lot of "overhead" to nitrous. You've got to
monitor fuel pressure, bottle pressure, maintain bottle pressure with a
bottle heater, etc. If you're at a stop light and a 'stang pulls up
beside you, you can't just hit the button and go...

  If that's what you're looking to do, a supercharger will give you
similar power outputs and all you have to do is step on the throttle.
A supercharger costs about 3 times as much as nitrous though... Another
option might be to stay naturally aspirated by going with a better
cam, intake, ported heads, and upgraded valvetrain. That SHOULD give
you a power increase in the neighborhood of a supercharger, but that stuff
isn't cheap either. (Supercharger might even be more cost effective.)
