Good point, Trevor! Never thought of that either. Different here in
Texas. For example: on the way home from the Houston meet, I averaged
about 80 - 85 mph. Not got up to, but AVERAGED. When I would slow
down to 75 or 80 to look at the scenery or fiddle with the radio,
folks would start passing me - every now and then, like I was
standing still. I hit the limiter probably five or six times just for
fun moving from one pack of cars to the next. Lots of fun putting it
in neutral and "coasting" down a long, straight slope at 100 mph! I
did this with myself and my 7 year old son (love him more than
anything in the world!!!) securely belted in - not just buckled, but
with the belt securely snugged up and the seats upright. Good idea to
be strapped in good all of the time, but I pay particular attention
when having "fast" fun. I don't cut anyone off when I'm threading my
way through a pack and the only time, generally, that there is any
animosity from me or any other driver is when you have a left laner
only doing 70 (that sounds funny, but it's true). Brian is from out
west in San Angelo and I'll bet he, or any other member from Texas,
can verify my description. LOTS of well maintained, relatively flat,
relatively straight road here.

FYI - Actual legal limit is 70 - x2 would be 140.

Sorry if I offended anyone too.

Tate

Ah ha! Geographic discrepancy! Maybe this whole issue relates to
where we
live. In RI, the highest speed limit is 65, so twice the legal limit
would
be 130, or 15 MPH faster than 115. And there are damn few places,
given the
diminutive size of this state, that you could even get your Dak up to
115.
Now say you live out west, where I've never been, BTW. Is the posted
limit
75 out there? And from what I've seen of larger and more expansive
states,
there are probably lot's of places where it would be reasonable to
drive
115.

I should have never opened my mouth; sorry if I offended anybody.
