I would have to agree. It's not like a horrible thing, just when you make a
turn, you'll hear chirping from the tires because they are both trying to
turn equally, and obviously can't in a turn. ;o)

Best bet is an "Air Locker", it allows you to lock or unlock your front on
demand.
I don't know if they have one for the Dakota or not.
Being "locked" front and rear is great for hairy off roading, but it's not
safe, or fun on the streets. It's a bear to turn the truck with a locked
front.
